Since Italy were inducted into the tournament in 2000, France have been by far the most successful of all the teams involved.
It took them two years to win their first title, but they did it in style, winning their seventh Grand Slam title and their first since 1998.
England claimed the title the following year but the French were soon back on top and won another Grand Slam in 2004 thanks to a thrilling 24-21 final day victory over England.
They missed out to Grand Slam winners Wales in 2005 but reasserted their dominance in the following two seasons by winning the title – but not the Grand Slam – in both 2006 and 2007.
There was an uncharacteristically long wait for their next title but, once again, it was worth the wait as they swept to the Grand Slam thanks to some fantastic rugby in 2010.
With three Grand Slam titles in the first decade of the new Millennium, the France rugby odds look well worth keeping an eye on.
